We have been SELF Subscribers since October 2004. In the first six months we had paid off a car, credit cards and property taxes totaling approximately $13,000! We started using SELF in March of 2005. Within the first 90 days we had paid off about $5800.00 worth of debt. Now we have been on SELF for 1 year and 4 months and we have retired $11,300 of credit card and other loan debt! During that time, we also had some unexpected major dental work done that totaled about $4500 and the SELF System allowed us to pay for that without putting it on a credit card and going backwards with our plan. It would have taken us 2 years to pay off just one of the credit cards where our balance was $2300. SELF paid that off in just over 2 months time. We also have paid off 2 high interest rate cards and now are about to tackle our last and largest card and are on target to pay that off in 6 months! So altogether, SELF has enabled us to pay a total of $15,800 of Target debt and unexpected expenses without altering our lifestyle or putting off the necessary dental work to a future time. The concepts we have learned by using SELF have taught us how to stay on top of our spending, keep precise records of our spending and general finances and put in place financial goals for the first time in our lives together.
I regularly recommend SELF to my friends and family. As my dad said when we began this plan, “just taking control of your finances is worth 10x what you pay to get in the program.” It is the truth! This plan is incredible! It makes little sense to continue this walking-through-the-mud approach to financial freedom we all try to take, when SELF ingeniously speeds up the process and makes you feel like you are actually running toward this freedom! I never thought I could feel that way about our financial situation!
